it is located approximately 15-20 minutes from the kihei-wailea area.

we think the best way to see maui is by renting a car. you can set up a pick up at the airport with all the typical rental companies.

if you prefer to look into a local budget rental company, feel free to ask lucy for a recommendation.

there are also taxi’s, uber, and lyft on island- they sometimes just aren’t as plentiful as on the mainland, so just know it might take a little longer to be picked up than normal.

Stay

We have opted to not have a room block at hotel wailea as many out of town guests have chosen to make reservations elsewhere.

hands down lucy’s favorite food truck in kihei- try their always fresh ahi poke or their made-to-order fish tacos

nutcharee’s authentic thai food

not sure if we should admit this, but we probably eat or pick up from here at least once a week. it’s our go-to. ben’s choice: cashew chicken stir fry or tom kha soup. lucy’s choice: drunken noodles with tofu or crispy fish and green mango salad.

Ko Restaurant

ben’s favorite restaurant- a great place to have some pupu’s to share and a fun local cocktail, try the “Ahi on the Rock” and sear your own tuna at the table or the “Waygu beef poke.”

Waihee Ridge Trail

this trail is one of our favorites because we went here on one of our first dates - if the west maui’s are looking clear, the views are really spectacular

Whale watch + snorkel

we love to get out on the water for a scuba diving or snorkel tour - and lucky for y’all, you’ll be here at the peak of whale season too! get out on the water for a whale watch or snorkel combo - there’s nothing like seeing maui from the water. some of our favorites are ali’i nui, trilogy, or ultimate whale watch and snorkel.

La Perouse

this place always feels really special to us - take a walk on the trail in the lava fields and catch some amazing mountain and ocean views. it takes our breath away every time.
